## What it does

Know how long a text is before you publish it. This counter tracks words, characters, sentences, paragraphs and lines, estimates reading and speaking time, and surfaces the most frequent words while ignoring common stopwords.

2. Read the counts and time estimates.
3. Use the top-word list to spot repetitions.

### How is reading time estimated?

At 200 words per minute. Speaking time uses 130 words per minute.

### Are stopwords excluded from the top list?

Yes, common English and Italian function words are ignored to make repetitions visible.

### How are characters counted?

Characters are counted as Unicode code points, so emoji count once rather than as two UTF-16 units.
