What this tool does

Spreadsheet exports are rarely as clean as they look: quoted commas, semicolons from European locales and byte-order marks break naive parsers. This converter handles quoted fields and escaped quotes, lets you choose the delimiter, and maps the first row to keys. Numeric-looking values become JSON numbers.

How to use it

  1. Paste the CSV or TSV content.
  2. Choose the delimiter and whether the first row is a header.
  3. Copy the JSON or download it as a file.

Questions

Are numbers converted to JSON numbers?

Yes. Values that parse as finite numbers become numbers; leading-zero sequences such as postal codes stay strings.

What happens with duplicate headers?

The later column overwrites the earlier key. Rename duplicate headers before converting.

Is my spreadsheet uploaded?

No. Parsing happens in this tab; nothing is sent.
